A random act of culture- can you Handel it?
Up early on Saturday morn. Received an email from a maniacal friend known as "Rant On" offering this YouTube clip of a 'Flash Opera' at Macy's in Philly, where 650 vocalists from 28 area choruses, unknown to holiday shoppers, arranged to break out in song at noon- Hallelujah!!!! Organized by the Opera Company of Philadelphia; a listing of the various participating groups at the end:
Will we be blessed?
On March 1, Lucinda Williams will release Blessed, her first album since 2008’s Honey. The record is produced by Don Was, and, according to American Songwriter, “features some of Williams’ strongest writing to date.” Blessed will also be available in a deluxe edition, which will include a bonus disc of the album in demo form, called The Kitchen Tapes.
