On Neil Diamond's birthday, the lineups are set for Jazz Fest 2012...

Well, the hope for the Black Keys playing this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has vanished with today's announcement that Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band are added to the first weekend and Eddie Vedder will do an acoustic set on Thursday of the second (our) weekend.  It's all good, though.

The daily schedules have been announced.  Early favorites to catch are:
  • Thursday (May 3)-  Esperanza Spaulding, Florence & the Machine, Eddie Vedder, Mia Borders, James Cotton, Little Freddie King, Rosie Ledet, The Iguanas,
  • Friday (May 4)- Grace Potter, Zac Brown Band, Theresa Andersson, Wayne Toups, Ingrid Lucia, Mavis Staples
  • Saturday (May 5)-The Eagles, Levon Helm w/ Mavis Staples, Allen Toussaint, Steve Earle, Anders Osborne, Malone Brothers, Lost Bayou Ramblers
  • Sunday (May 6)- Bonnie Raitt, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Funky Meters, Asleep at the Wheel, Mem Shannon, Rockin' Dopsie Jr, Neville Bros (pass on the Foo Fighters)
