Oh, the weather outside is frightful (or, in Bill Walton's words, "horrrrrrrible")...

Another foot and a half???  No way.  Way!!  School closings.  More importantly, BINGO closings!  Non-essential (read insignificant) State employees stay home (that means you, Keith).   Makes one yearn for a hot, sunny Spring day down in N'awlins at Jazz Fest, chompin' on a roast beef po' boy, guzzling an ice cold Abita Amber, listening to Theresa Andersson, even if you have to put up with some obnoxious characters (and you know who they are).

(From her website bio) ...Her adopted home, which she moved to at the age of 18, also infused the record with special attributes. "When I first came to New Orleans, I really felt something inside of me was awakened." Like most residents of the Big Easy, Andersson is a music lover, steeped in the vintage sounds that have made the city famous. As a performer, her résumé includes dates with Dr. John, the Neville Brothers, Betty Harris, and members of the Meters. "All of that has filtered into me," she observes. "You can't help it when you're here." Listen closely to the aforementioned "Birds Fly Away," and at its heart, you will hear a sample of renown New Orleans drummer Smokey Johnson, one of her favorites. Regional legend Allen Toussaint even dropped by, ferried in his champagne-colored Rolls Royce, to perform on the bonus track "Now I Know."  (more)

After shoveling all morning, it was a welcome sight to see and listen to Theresa this morning. You probably know she is one of my all time favorites. I'm not sure why, but the flash of her street sign (desire) at the end of the video makes me want to go to the Big Easy and wait on her doorstep. Well, don't need to be labeled a stalker.

Nice video -- a real warmup to your Jazz Fest trip.
