Jimmy Buffett released from hospital after stage fall (mog.com)
American singer songwriter Jimmy Buffett was released from St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney this morning after falling off stage and knocking himself unconscious last night. Buffett was performing at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney. At the end of the show he walked to the front of the stage to say goodbye to fans but misjudged his footing and fell face first down 6ft onto the concrete floor. He was unconscious for eight minutes. Buffett was rushed to the nearby hospital and stayed overnight. A one-line statement from his management this morning says, ‘Jimmy has been released from the hospital and is doing well.’ Jimmy Buffett was in Australia for three shows in Sydney only. He is not performing in any other Australia cities on this visit but is still scheduled to perform in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday (January 29, 2011).
