Steel beam installation at Cafe Nine
WELL, THE RUMORS YOU HAVE BEEN HEARING
ARE TRUE. We are
taking a little down time this month to begin some renovation
work here. We have been working behind the scenes for a while now with
our fellow musician and architect Eric Epstein of Epstein Design to spruce up the place. We came up with
a two-phase plan and are ready to go with Phase One starting
on January 10. Phase One will include changing the location of the bar,
moving the soundboard, getting rid of that column that always
blocks your view and cleaning up the floor. Phase Two scheduled for April will include expanding the
existing stage, moving the front entry to Crown St. and complete
renovation of the bathrooms (yeah!). It is our goal to improve the experience of both our patrons
and the artists who perform here.
Since its inception, the vision of Cafe Nine's founder Michael Reichbart has been to provide a space for artists to create “music for the people” in an “ego free zone.” With these plans we hope we can keep his vision alive in our commitment to providing a home for original live music in our community. Our thanks go out to everyone who has supported us over the years. We look forward to making your experience here better in the years to come. - Paul Mayer and the Staff at Cafe Nine |
