Up early this morning reading Hartford Courant's Cal (what a spiffy abreviation of Calendar!), when I spot a blurb that "tickets go on sale Monday at 10am for an Oct 24 Van Morrison 'Astral Weeks' concert at the Palace Theater in Waterbury." And I don't want to hear from all the Van haters who despise his distant, calculated concert persona. Enough.
For those who are laying around the shanty, Jonathan Edwards plays a free concert tonight at the East Hartford Town green.
Friday night concert series at Meadowbrook Park in Hamden (where Dan Gooley bounced his hole-in-one down the fairway many moons ago) has Eight To the Bar tomorrow night and Tower of Power (I'm assuming without Victor Conte on bass) the following week.
Really cool free concert next Tuesday at Mohegan Sun's Wolf Den - Dr. John & the Lower 911! The Reet agrees to go if she can play the poker machines during the show. Agreed. I'll watch from that little bar they have along the back rail. The Neville Brothers will be there on Thursday, August 27.
